December 20, 2015

A Church in McHenry, IL on December 20, 2015.
It's amazing how small churches away from big cities can pack people in. Standing room only. They did a pass the plate fundraiser for their upcoming choir trip and wanted to make $3000. They made over $6000. Hardly a dry eye in the place.
I really liked the snowflakes hanging from the ceiling.

December 19, 2015

I did not take this one from my seat, but of my seat.
Midwest Band and Orchestra conference. Morning of December 19th, 2015. Way bigger crowd then I expected as it was the last thing of the conference and I assumed most people would have gone home.
We played Nutcracker, Enigma, and a tuba concerto with 4 and a half soloists. Three from civic alternated phrases, CSO tuba played the second movements, and they had recordings of Arnold Jacobs playing the cadenzas. The front row of important people were crying.

December 18, 2015

This gig was for a man who basically pays an orchestra a couple times a year so he can live up to his dream of being a conductor. This gig makes me think that the stupid show "Mozart in the Jungle" may not be too far fetched.
December 18, 2015. Harper College.

December 17, 2015

Outreach concert with the Orchestra i'm a member of. This was in a high school on the south side. The audience clapped between every movement of the nutcracker and Elgar's Enigma Variations. We like that they enjoyed it, but man does that make a concert feel like it's dragging.

December 13, 2015

Christmas music at a Mega Church in Chicago. Almost every seat was full. December 13, 2015.

December 10, 2015

This was playing arrangements that a class at a city University arranged for their final. It was in the morning. I was a bit hungover.
One kid got super upset because we told him that it was not a good idea to have "FF" and  "off" and "tip" all at the same time.
Morning of December 10, 2015.

December 9, 2015

These are from a gig that covered two complete Rolling Stones Albums from start to finish.
It was December 9, 2015.
You can't see the audience, but it was much more crowded then I expected.

December 3, 2015

From December 3rd, 2015.
Playing Brandenburg 1 in a coffee house on the South Side of Chicago. We decided to experiment and try playing surrounding the audience. They seemed to enjoy it!
